I am not getting Responses From my Emails. What Should I do?

Sending out emails to college coaches with your video, schedule, grades, references and basic bio information is an essential part of the process. It is also typically one of the first steps in the process. If you are sending emails out and not getting any responses back then you need adjust your approach and find out what is missing. Here are some common issues that make your email get overlooked.

If you are before your Junior Year (September 1), D1 coaches can only respond with a camp invitation or questionnaire.
Who are you sending the email too? Try a different coach if you are not getting any response.
What is your subject line? This is what they see first. Think about what would catch their attention right away versus "How are you".
When are you sending it to them? Coaches get hundreds of emails each week. Try a different time of the day to send it to them.
Do not make your email long! Get to the point, make your video easily accessible and avoid rambling.
Be personal with the email versus a form letter. If you get an email from a big retailer, how much of it do you read?
Try and try again! There could be a number of different reasons they did not respond. Don't give up!
Remember, it is not your coaches job to email everyone for you. Hopefully they will reach out of your behalf to their connections but it is up to you to promote yourself. It is your career, your education and what you have worked for your whole life. Do not let "technology" stay in your way of getting recruiting.
